Liana Wallet
Liana Wallet is a desktop app designed to help Bitcoin users secure their funds for the long term, with a special focus on recovery and inheritance. It lets users set up primary keys for everyday transactions and recovery keys that activate only after a set period of inactivity. This makes it ideal for situations like inheritance, where funds need to be accessed by others after a certain time—without relying on third parties or custodians.
The wallet uses time-based delays (timelocks) to ensure recovery keys are activated only when needed, with options for delays of up to approximately 15 months. Liana supports both single-signature and multi-signature setups for added flexibility.
Users can connect Liana directly to their own Bitcoin node or use an electrum server. For those who prefer a simpler setup, Liana also offers Liana Connect, a hosted service for easy network access.
The wallet is compatible with popular hardware devices like Coldcard, Ledger, Bitbox, Blockstream Jade, and Specter DIY.

Liana Wallet’s inheritance template works with an active key for daily use and a backup key for recovery to be given to your heir together with the recovery instructions. A time-lock mechanism ensures that the backup key can take over only after a specified period – if the active key becomes inaccessible. This ensures seamless transfer of funds in case of lossor death.
People can also customize the setup to fit their specific needs, e.g. if they prefer having multiple recovery options or multiple keys inside a single recovery option.
Your beneficiaries can see how much Bitcoin you own on Liana Wallet only if you explicitly share that information with them by giving them your wallet’s descriptor. You could decide to make the information inaccessible for them until they will need it to recover the funds by for example backing it up via a third party provider, such as a notary or Wizardsardine, which will share it with them only after the tragic event or by using tamper-evident bags.
A hardware wallet secures your private keys offline, protecting them from online threats, while a seed phrase is your ultimate backup to recover funds if the hardware wallet is lost or damaged. Together, they ensure security and ability to recovery the funds in the case it’s needed. This is a generic bitcoin security best practice not strictly related to only Liana.

Seed12 is a robust system designed for securely backing up sensitive data like recovery seed phrases, passphrases, private keys, and other types of alphanumeric passwords. Deeply engraved character tiles are stacked on the metal core, secured with patented cotter pins at both ends. The metal backup can be enclosed in a protective Capsule shell and protected with a tamper evident seal. The capsule is hollowed out in a solid piece of aero-grade stainless steel offering extreme protection against any type of destructive forces. The PSW-97® Security Seal by American Casting & Manufacturing Corp. with nearly 45kg (100 lbs) of breaking strenght is marked with a unique serial number, allowing to easily manage your backups.
