To set up Liana properly, you need 2 signing devices of your choice (available to choose from: Ledger Nano S Plus, BitBox 02, Ledger Flex, Blockstream Jade), and 2 Cryptosteel Seed24 Capsules. Additional items such as an instruction manual, an inheritance letter, USB drives, and tamper-evident bags are included to help you set up an inheritance plan or a timelocked backup. Liana Wallet’s inheritance template works with an active key for daily use and a backup key for recovery to be given to your heir together with the recovery instructions. A time-lock mechanism ensures that the backup key can take over only after a specified period – if the active key becomes inaccessible. This ensures seamless transfer of funds in case of lossor death.
People can also customize the setup to fit their specific needs, e.g. if they prefer having multiple recovery options or multiple keys inside a single recovery option.

Your beneficiaries can see how much Bitcoin you own on Liana Wallet only if you explicitly share that information with them by giving them your wallet’s descriptor. You could decide to make the information inaccessible for them until they will need it to recover the funds by for example backing it up via a third party provider, such as a notary or Wizardsardine, which will share it with them only after the tragic event or by using tamper-evident bags.
